Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What if I don't like the way the finished site looks?
A.      Not to worry. Once we have the forward look and feel completed we then offer you one chance to make any major changes before the complicated development begins. This makes it easier for both you, the consumer, and us, the developer and removes the hassle of making big changes in the end.
Q. Do I have to pay anything up front?
A.      Yes. Our clients understand that 50% of the total project cost is due up front. This protects us from wasted man hours and ensures that your project will be done in a timely manner.
Q. How long does it take?
A.      Depending on what you are looking for it can take anywhere from a week to several months. It really depends on how much work has to be done to accomplish what you need. Say for example you request a simple three page informational site about a business. Something like that would take about a week. More pages and more features means more time would be needed. We make sure to give you a proper time estimate up front and guarantee our work to be done before the deadline we give you. If we do not, then you do not have to pay us the remaining balance and your site is 50% off.
Q. Do I have to pay for hosting?
A.      We offer a reliable maintenance service for $49.99 per month that will take care of hosting, site maintenance, and even delivers monthly traffic reports. In addition we give you bi-weekly content change opportunities that allows you to have us update your site's content at no extra charge, two times a month. If however, you do not wish to utilize our maintenance service then you will be required to pay for your hosting account which we set up and turn over to you.
Q. Do I have to provide images and/or text?
A.      Images are one of the things we discuss up front. We can provide images for additional cost; depending on what images you need the cost may vary. However, you can provide the images for us if you wish. Just as long as the images you provide do not belong to somebody else or are otherwise copyrighted.
You do provide the text. This ensures that your site says exactly what you want it to say. This is another thing that can be changed during your one-time review before major development begins. If you are paying for a content management system and would prefer to wait until completion to set the text content yourself then we will provide "filler" words to show you generally how the site will look. After that you can change them as much as you like. That's what makes a content management system so helpful.
Q. How do I communicate with Chevtek during development of my site?
A.      Generally we try to stick to email communication to increase productivity, but occasionally we might ask to speak with you over the phone in order to gain a more accurate picture of what you are looking for with your site. Once complex development begins we generally do not communicate with you unless there is a question regarding your project.
Q. Do I have to provide the domain name?
A.      You are welcome to provide us with a domain name you have already purchased, but it is not required. We are more than happy to provide a domain name for you. You give us what name you like, along with at least three alternatives as domain names are very often taken already, and we'll take care of the rest. If no names you provided are available then we'll gather a list of available alternatives and send them to you. Sometimes people don't realize while "somename.com" might be taken, very often "somename.net" is available instead. We'll be sure to inform you of all of this once we begin discussing your project.
Q. Do you have any representatives fluent in Spanish?
A.      Unfortunately no. We are trying to secure multi-lingual team members for the future, but for now we can only conduct business in English. It is very important that you speak clear English so there are no misunderstandings with your project.
Q. How do I pay for my site?
A.      We support all major credit cards and paypal.
