Welcome to my latest project, DicedOnions.com! Diced Onions is a free service that offers you a one-page website that is customizable by you. There are no ads and no fees, just your very own website. I cannot say what has compelled me to build a service like this and give it away for free. I guess you could call it an online experiment. I chose the name because it was easy to remember and I was very surprised to find that it was not taken. All you have to do is sign up for your free account and then go to your brand new homepage that it creates for you. While logged in your home page displays many controls for modifying your page content and design. Colors, graphics, and even the page title is all customizable by you. I purposely kept the features to a minimum to create the simplest and most seamless experience I could.

Search engine optimization (SEO) can be a lengthy topic. In fact, that is why there are so many companies that offer SEO as a full-time service. Earlier I prepared a presentation on social media. Social media falls into one of the many ways to help optimize your site's ranking within search engine search results. I stumbled on a very valuable tutorial that explains SEO. I thought I might link to that tutorial here. Enjoy!

Great SEO Tutorial!

Do you use Twitter to appease your micro-blogging craving? I know I do. Twitter is a valuable tool for putting yourself out there. I use it for everything I do every day. It gives others a small peek into my life and I enjoy the feedback. For the most part Twitter seems to be a very positive social networking experience. However, as Twitter grows in popularity I am beginning to notice an unfortunate trend. Micro-blogging makes it very easy to say anything from anywhere at any time. Being the new online sensation stirs up a brew of positive people, but now the flood gates are open. Negative tweets are being made in greater and greater numbers each day.

While researching the best ways to push my blogs and other content out onto the web I ran across a little gadget that is pretty amazing! It is called "Share This" and it allows me and anyone else that finds a piece of content useful to quickly share the page using their favorite website of choice. If you use Twitter it is as easy as clicking the Share This button and selecting Twitter. It will place a chunk of text in your update box and you just click update. Viola! A few clicks and you've shared a blog with your social network. It works with many more sites than Twitter as well. Facebook, myspace, LinkedIn, etc...

The internet is a world of opportunity. Most of you probably know by now just how powerful the internet can be. It has brought communities of like-minded people together from all over the world. You know it can do a great many things for you and your business. What you may not know is what it can do for business in general. There are entire companies that only exist on the internet. Some of these companies aren't even related to computers or technical services. One prime example is online eCommerce stores. Online stores only interact with the public through the internet. Just about the only component that exists in the real world are the wholesalers that actually move product and deliver to the customer.
